Congratulations to all pupils in Year 13 who are celebrating their results at Leigh Academy Bexley across A Levels, Applied General, Technical level and, for the first time, T-Level qualifications. We are incredibly proud of their achievements – they have demonstrated the academy values of ambition and resilience admirably.
A Level Courses
At A-Level, students sustained a solid average grade of C with strong progress in value-added measures. Students have made excellent progress in A Level English literature, history and sociology.
Applied General Courses
Applied General results were particularly impressive, with the average grade at distinction.
Distinctions have been achieved in sport, business, applied science and health and social care. Over 90% of grades awarded in vocational qualifications are Merit or above, with 48% of grades being distinction or above.
Technical Level Courses
Students studying technical level qualifications have achieved highly, with the average grade achieved also being a distinction. Over 80% of the students gained a distinction with 4 students getting the highest possible grade of a distinction*.
T-Level Courses
This year also marked the academy’s first T-Level cohort, completing qualifications in finance and digital production. T-Levels are assessed with an overall grade, a core component grade, and separate grades for each occupational specialism. Overall grades are awarded as distinction*, distinction, merit, or pass. Results were highly positive with all students achieving distinction or merit grades.
Notable student performance includes:
- Oussama achieved distinction grades in applied science and information technology.
- Aayan achieved a distinction grade in business and a merit in applied science.
- Harvey achieved a distinction* in science, a distinction in business and a merit in applied science.
- Millie achieved an A grade in sociology, a B grade in English literature and a merit in business.
- Valarie achieved a distinction in health and social care, a B grade in sociology and a C grade in psychology.
- Ruby achieved a distinction* in computing, and B grades in politics and psychology.
- Talea achieved a distinction* in health and social care, a distinction in business, and a C grade in sociology.
- Joshua achieved a distinction* in information technology and health and social care, with a distinction in business.
- Xernthia achieved B grades in politics and history, and a C grade in psychology.
- Robertas achieved a distinction in information technology and a merit in business.
- Kamran achieved a distinction in T Level Finance.
- Sam achieved a distinction* in information technology, an A grade in mathematics, and a distinction in business.
- Amy achieved a distinction* in health and social care and an A grade in sociology.
- Andile achieved a distinction in applied science and a merit in health and social care.
- Amith achieved distinctions in business and information technology.
- Parvir achieved a distinction in sport, and merits in business and health and social care.
- Courtney achieved a distinction* in health and social care, and merits in applied science and business.
We are pleased with the number of students who are progressing onto university courses and apprenticeships. Our students are using the knowledge and skills they have developed to study a range of subjects including English literature, social work, computer science, theology, business management, law, criminology and veterinary nursing.
