Students at Leigh Academy Bexley are celebrating their results which represent the best-ever set of GCSE results since joining Leigh Academies Trust in 2023. These results are a testament to the substantial efforts of the students. This Year 11 cohort has demonstrated a real sense of determination throughout the lead-up to their exams and the examination series itself.
Headline Achievements
The academy has secured an Attainment 8 score of 40.65, significantly above last year’s figure of 35.44. This represents an exceptional improvement in overall results.
The proportion of students achieving both English and mathematics at a grade 4 or above has risen to 51.9% from 43.7% in 2024/25, with the proportion of students achieving grade 5s in both subjects also showing strong improvement.
Students in all colleges performed well, with significant gains across the key thresholds: 4+ up by 12.3%, 5+ up by 6.3% and 7+ up by 1.2%. Students also secured an increased number of grade 9s representing the academy’s strongest ever high-grade performance.
We are incredibly proud of the results of our SEN and pupil premium students. The achievement for both groups of students represent a significant improvement on previous years.

“I am immensely proud of our Year 11 students for achieving the best-ever set of GCSE results in our history. Their determination throughout the lead-up to their exams and during the examination series itself has yielded fantastic progress, including a significant rise in our Attainment 8 score and stronger outcomes in English and mathematics. I am especially pleased to see such meaningful gains for our SEN and pupil premium students, which is a testament to their hard work and the support of our dedicated staff. This cohort has truly embodied the ambition and resilience we value at Leigh Academy Bexley, and I congratulate each and every one of them on their well-deserved success”.
This year has seen a number of significant achievements for the Leigh Academy Bexley community which we are immensely proud of. Our first Ofsted report in May 2026 highlighted the significant improvements across all areas of the academy, including achieving the strong standard for Inclusion and Leadership and Governance, which are reflected in the outcomes students have achieved today. In addition, we are now authorised to deliver the Middle Years Programme in Key Stage 3 and the Careers-related Programme in Key Stage 5 as an International Baccalaureate World School. We have also seen the successful launch of Chatsworth, our Specialist Resource Provision for students with a primary need of autism in partnership with Bexley local authority.
