Congratulations to all pupils in Year 11 who are celebrating their results at Leigh Academy Bexley. We are extremely proud of their achievements and wish them well with their post 16 endeavours.  

We are delighted to announce that the performance at Key Stage 4 has continued to improve which is a result of the hard work of the whole academy community, including its students, families and staff. 

The proportion of pupils achieving grades equivalent to 7+ has almost doubled compared to last academic year. We are also pleased with the increase in the proportion of pupils achieving grades 9-4 compared to last academic year, as well as the proportion of pupils awarded grades 9-5. Grades in vocational qualifications have also continued to improve, with a significant increase in the proportion of students achieving a level 2 distinction or merit. 

Top grades have been achieved across the curriculum, including in English language, English literature, mathematics and computer science.

Notable student performance includes:

  • Anjola: 2 grade 9s (English literature computer science), a 9-9 (combined science) a distinction (business), 2 grades 8s (geography and mathematics) and a grade 7 (English language)
  • Sophie: 2 grade 9s (mathematics and computer science), a 9-8 (combined science), 2 grade 8 (English language and sociology), and 2 grade 7s (English literature and history)
  • Aron: 4 grade 8s (English language, English literature, mathematics, computer science), an 8-8 in combined science and 2 grade 7s (physical education and history)
  • Isabella: 1 grade 8 (mathematics), an 8-8 in combined science, 3 grade 7s (English literature, history and sociology), a merit (enterprise) and a grade 6 (English language)
  • Munsimar: a distinction (enterprise), 3 grade 8s (English language, English literature and history), an 8-8 (combined science) 1 grade 7 (sociology), a 7-6 (combined science) and a grade 6 (mathematics)
  • Kishan: a distinction (enterprise), 2 grade 8s (English language and English literature), a grade 7 (history), a grade 6 (mathematics) and a grade 5 (computer science)
  • Angelo: 2 distinctions (enterprise and engineering), a grade 8 (English literature), 2 grade 7s (mathematics and geography), a 7-7 (combined science) and a grade 6 (English language)
