Why study here:
Our philosophy is for students to leave with all doors open. We will support our students along their desired pathway beyond sixth form but encourage them to be ambitious for themselves and regardless of their desired pathway they leave prepared for higher education, vocational training or employment.
Our Post 16 provision is Ofsted graded ‘Outstanding’: we offer a range of academic and vocational courses including the academically rigorous International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme (IBCP) and T Levels. This, combined with our extensive extracurricular and personal development programmes, provides a rich experience which enhances applications to universities, apprenticeship providers, and future employers. We have a proven track record of guiding our students into their preferred destinations.
Furthermore, we have a dedicated Post 16 tutor team with small form groups and one-to-one mentoring sessions. Form groups help instil a sense of community, but also help develop key skills for life such as organisation, debate, critical thought, and reflection. Form time and enrichment is a key component in helping students develop into well-rounded, mature young adults. Here at Leigh Academy Bexley Post 16 we are confident that we are an excellent choice for students embarking on the next stage of their academic careers.
We have a dedicated careers team who work with all our students in supporting their future aspirations. We provide an extensive UCAS guidance programme to support students in their choice of University and courses, as well as guidance for apprenticeships and employment.
As a sixth form student at Leigh Academy Bexley you will be a role model for the Key Stage 3 and 4 student body. You will have opportunities to be involved in shaping Academy life through student voice, supporting the extra curricular programme or acting as mentors for the Academy’s students.
We are passionate about creating opportunities for young people and supporting them through this crucial stage of life, preparing for adulthood and reaching potential. If you would like more information, please feel free to contact us to arrange a tour and meet Sixth Form staff and students or visit our website.

Our Sixth Form Curriculum
This is an exciting time to be part of the Leigh Academy Bexley Sixth Form. Students will study 3 subjects from a range of A Level and Vocational courses, which are designed in a way that students can pick sensible combinations, which allow for progression onto pathways of higher education or into the world of work. Students will also have an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills by gaining extra qualifications, such as EPQ or Core Maths, as well as building their professional profile through weekly career development opportunities. Students’ timetables will see them have a daily lesson of their chosen subjects. Teachers will work with students to ensure they are equipped with the relevant skills they need to be able to study independently which will prepare them for life after Sixth Form.
All students in the sixth form benefit from a programme of careers interviews, work tasters and opportunities to meet with employers and higher education providers. All aspects of the support have proved advantageous and have played a large part in our students successfully gaining university places.
