Dear Parents/Carers,
Operation Encompass
This is to inform you that Leigh Academy Bexley is working in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Service as part of their legal commitments under Operation Encompass. Operation Encompass is the notification to schools that a child (under 18) has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident. This includes incidents where the child/young person was not present but is part of the household. This will ordinarily be done by the start of the next academy day.
Operation Encompass will ensure that Mr Wilson, our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), is fully informed with the information they possess. As DSL he can then use the information that has been shared, in confidence, to ensure the wellbeing of the child. The academy may be able to make provisions or adjustments to assist the child and their family. We are keen to offer the best support possible to all our students and we believe this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved. If you would like more information, please visit https://www.operationencompass.org/
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Yours faithfully
John Dixon
Principal
