End of Term Letter

Dear Parents/Carers

End of Module 6 Letter

As we near the end of a successful academic year 2023-2024, we wanted to provide you with the arrangements for the final week of the module.

• Tuesday 16th July: Cultural Capital Day
• Friday 19th July: Module 6 ends

The arrangements for the final day of the module on Friday 19th July are as follows:

Students must attend in full school uniform and will follow their normal timetable until 12.15pm, when they will be dismissed by the Leadership Team.  Please be assured that learning will continue and our high standards and expectations remain.  Students who are entitled to a free school meal will be able to purchase food at break time.

Please note that Leigh Academy Bexley re-opens in September for students at the normal time, as follows:

• Year 7 and 12 only return Monday 2nd September 2024
• All students return Tuesday 3rd September 2024

Students must be in the academy no later than 8.25am ready for tutor time at 8.30am.

The ongoing improvement and investment works will continue as planned during the summer break.  In addition to our new restaurant, new library, 8 new science labs and fully refurbished classrooms, the upgrading works have begun on the student toilet facilities, including the development of an additional toilet block.  We are pleased to inform you that we will be holding a Stakeholder Event early in Module 1 (date to be confirmed shortly) when you will have the opportunity to tour the academy and see for yourself the transformation.  

We are looking forward to welcoming new members of staff joining us at the start of the new academic year:

The academy is migrating its cashless payment system in the Restaurant and alongside this we will be using the MyChildAtSchool App for all online payments from 1st September.  We are pleased to have been chosen by Leigh Academies Trust as the first academy to fully transition to this platform and further information will be sent to parents separately.
